Rihanna was born in Saint Michael, Barbados and raised there. She was a candidate for Evan Rogers, an American record producer who asked her to record demo tapes for the United States. After joining Def Jam in 2005, Rihanna gained acclaim with the release of her first two studio albums: Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006) and A Girl Like Me (2006), both of which were inspired by Caribbean music, and both reached the top ten of the US Billboard 200 chart. The third album by Rihanna, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), incorporated elements of dance-pop and established her position as a sex symbol in the music industry. The single that topped the charts "Umbrella" was the single that earned Rihanna her first Grammy Award and catapulted her to international stardom. ", "S&M","We Found Love" "Where Have You Been” and "Diamonds". Her eighth album, Anti (2016), featured a brand new control of her creativity following her separation from Def Jam. It was her second US number-one album featuring the hit song "Work". Rihanna has been in close contact with a variety of artists throughout her music career.
