Harry Edward Styles, known as Harry Styles in the world of pop music. as Harry Styles, is a British composer and performer who is regarded as a member of the band One Direction. His parents were Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles was born on 1st February 1994, in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. Harry Styles studied at the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, which is where he formed his own band, composed of three classmates, which he called the White Eskimo. They participated in the Battle of Bands where thanks to their excellent presentations they were winners. Although he has always expressed an interest in music but despite his enthusiasm for it he wanted also to be a lawyer or physical therapist. To support his family, he spent an hour or so working in a bakery. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition in which he performed Stevie Wonder's hit song Is not She Lovely. His band was forced to break up due to the fact that they were selected. Nicole Scherzinger proposed to Harry Styles to be a part of a new band, One Direction. The other group members included Liam Payne Zayn Mallik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored five teenagers to create the group in the year 2010. The group sang The Kelly Clarkson song My Life Would be Sucking Without You together with Bonnie Tyler Total Eclipse of the Heart. As a consequence, they were one of the finalist. The group was however placed third position behind Rebecca Ferguson, and the winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles, his group and Cowell did not win the competition. However Cowell gave Harry Styles a 2 million pound contract to sign up with Syco.
