Taylor

Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who was able to transcend over from country music to mainstream pop culture, becoming an icon of the pop world. The singer also swept every continent during the course of her journey. Swift shed the country influences like they were an extra layer of skin. She revealed that she was one of the most talented singers/songwriters in her generation. Swift could make the occasion personal, or use it to her advantage. Swift's early songs, including their neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. The album from 2008 Fearless revealed a songwriter who was discovering herself and was able to draw a wide audience. The album ended up with a lot of appeal not just in the U.S. where it racked seven platinum singles thanks to Top Ten hits Love Story and the hit single You Belong with Me but throughout the globe, performing especially well in Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift's second album Speak Now, released nearly two years following the debut, further consolidated this momentum. The album propelled Swift into the spotlight. The popularity of Swift only grew over her next three albums -- Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017) -- and found her moving assuredly into the realm of pop where she already belonged. The popularity of her music grew after she reformulated her approach with 2020's pared-down siblings folklore (and Evermore) and stayed atop of the pop world.
